Role Outlines
4th Grade Gallery Hop Timeframe: Â March/April Description: Â Coordinate the annual springtime art gallery event that showcases the 4th graders art accomplishments to their parents during this evening event.
5th Grade Activities Timeframe: August/Sept & April/May Description: Â This group plans the 5th grade activities to celebrate the 5th graders time at Tremont. The committee organizes the breakfast, beach party, t-shirts, memory book and more. These events occur at the beginning of the year, and also again at the end of the year.
After School Activities Timeframe: Fall, Winter, Spring sessions Description: Â Coordinate the After School Enrichment program. Choose classes offered, contact and schedule instructors, coordinate Aides, handle registration of students through PTO website.
Book Fair Timeframe: October/November Description: Â Assist librarian to help organize the annual bookfair. All proceeds go to the Media center library. Â The committee helps with set-up, tear down, staffing the event and recruiting volunteers to also help staff the event.
Cafeteria Volunteers Timeframe: Â Throughout the year Description: This position requires setting up a sign-up genius to collect and manage monthly volunteers to work the cafeteria.
Cake Bingo Timeframe: January/February Description:Â Help plan a fun night for families to play bingo and win cakes! You will oversee the event, manage pizza orders and cake donations, and create a volunteer sign up for donations, to help set up, check-in and clean up.
Multicultural Night Timeframe: February/March Description: Â Plan and execute this family event. Coordinate food samples with local businesses, plan event in gymnasium, coordinate volunteers, plan table/stations for families to setup displays.
Dine & Donate Timeframe: Throughout the year Description: Â Coordinate with local businesses to give a percentage of their profits to Tremont after hosting a night with Tremont families.
Directory Timeframe: August/September Description: Compile the online PTO membership directory from a provided list.
Tremont Auction & Social Timeframe: Â January/February Description: Â The committee chair is responsible for the planning and management of the Tremont Auction followed by the adult only Social both held in February. The Chair will manage a committee and is responsible for assigning roles and overseeing all execution. This includes: auction package solicitation and management from a list of previous donors, ticket sales, and auction site management, venue, entertainment, drinks and appetizers, and door prizes. As well as any volunteers needed to help plan and work the event. This will require many committee members to divide up these roles.
Room Parent Coordinator Timeframe: Throughout the year Description:  Oversee Room Parent Coordinators and ensure they are pushing out timely information as needed for classroom parties, fundraising, or any other needed communication.
School Supplies Timeframe: Â May/June (before upcoming school year) Description: Â Coordinates with teachers to generate supply lists and places order. Helps with distribution to classrooms/teachers upon delivery.
Spelling Bee Timeframe: December/January Description: Organize and implement the annual school Spelling Bee, generally held over two days in mid-January 1st day 2nd-3rd graders, 2nd day 4th-5th graders). This typically involves a couple of hours of prep work in the months leading up to the event, a few more hours the week before the event, and then the running of the event itself. (Approximately 2 hours long, 2 days in a row)
Spirit Wear Timeframe: June/July, & October/November Description: Â Design and coordinate production of spirit wear for a sale for back to school, and for the holiday season.
Teacher Appreciation Week Timeframe: Â April/May Description: Â Committee pampers the teachers and staff members for an entire week. This group plans all school activities during Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
Walk-a-thon Timeframe: Â Sept/Oct Description: Â Plan and oversee the student walk-a-thon fundraising event normally held in the fall at Tremont. This requires planning with staff for timing, t-shirt orders, volunteer coordination for event day, and overseeing event.
Walk and Roll Timeframe: Oct & March Descriptions: Â This program that promotes healthy living and encourages walking or biking to school. This role requires planning of program dates for the fall and spring (Tu/Th), coordinating volunteer stations at entry doors before school to tally students who walk or bike, and providing final numbers for a grade level winner and donation amount to Treasuer and School Staff.
Recess Walking Club Timeframe: Fall & Spring Descriptions: Â This program provides students with a physical activity at lunch recess. The role includes creating a sign up genius to manage volunteers to work the recess program. Here they will setup a station and track students laps for prizes.
Fall Fest Timeframe: September/October Description: Â Plan and execute a fall themed festival for students and families held on a Friday in October. This fun filled night includes, games, food trucks, bounce houses, and the raffle of classroom baskets. Committee chairs manage team members and ensure that everything is running smoothy for the event. They are responsible for assigning and overseeing roles, coordinating raffle baskets, and recruiting event volunteers through a sign-up genius.
