An easy way to get your feet wet with volunteering! These are fun and simple ways to get involved in your child's time at Tremont.

  • Room Parent - As a room parent, you will work with the teacher and other classroom volunteers to coordinate class activities, projects and parties. You do not have to plan or attend all of these events but you may need to recruit parents and help with some of the duties if the roles are not filled. The room parent also helps to communicate information to parents and volunteers and may be called on by the teacher to help out when extra hands are needed. You kind of serve as a middle man between the PTO, teacher, volunteers and parents.

  • Fall Festival Basket Coordinator - The coordinator will work with the class to come up with a basket theme (examples: movie night, UA sports, gift card tree, sweets & treats, etc.). You will be responsible for collecting all items, and then presenting them in some fun way to be displayed the week of the Fall Festival. These baskets are raffled off at the end of the Fall Fest...it's a wild time and something you don't want to miss! This event comes up quickly and will get rolling in September for the event on October 10th!

  • Tremont Auction Class Art Coordinator - Every year, each classroom creates an original piece of art to auction off at the  Tremont Social.  This year it will be on February 27th. This event is a huge fundraiser for our PTO and the art items are usually big ticket items!  The coordinators will work with the teacher and students to come up with a project and then help to execute it. This will likely take a few visits during the school day to work with students on the project. Examples from the past front door wreaths, paintings, bags, stepping stones, and more. Last year the pieces were really creative...the sky's the limit here!

  • Party Planners - There are three opportunities to help with classroom parties, fall, winter and Valentines Day. In this role, you will be helping to plan age and school appropriate games, crafts and provide (approved) snacks for the students. These parties are always a huge hit with the kids and it's because the planners take the time to make them awesome. You will not be responsible to supply all of the things needed (you can rely on all of the parents to chip in) but you will collect the items, plan the event and then be at the event (with bells on) to make it a great experience for the students and teachers. Note-this is usually popular with the volunteers so while you can sign up to work all three, you may only get a chance to work at one.
