PTO FAQs
We understand that there are a lot of questions around PTO and our role at Tremont. We hope to answer some of our most frequently asked questions here!
Who makes up the PTO?
The PTO is comprised of our parent volunteer Board Members and Committee Chairs. Board members run operations and oversee the Committee Chairs; while Committe Chairs plan and execute their specific role.
If I make a donation as a "PTO Supporter" am I considered a PTO member?
Your donation as a PTO Supporter does not enroll you in the Tremont Elementary PTO. It is simply a way to help support our efforts to provide our students and staff with all of the support they need for the year.
How are funds used within the PTO?
The PTO is a non-profit 501.c3 that uses all donation and sponsorship funds for the enrichment of our students, school, facilites, and staff.
Do I have to join the PTO to volunteer within the school?
No! There are many volunteering opportunities, big and small, within Tremont! If you're new to our school or just wanting to get started, you may want to consider a light-level commitment like: room parent, class party planner, walking club, cafeteria helper, walk & roll, or event volunteering
