The Tremont DEI committee has created an action card as a resource for all Tremont Families. October's action card focuses on Hispanic Heritage, and has suggestions and resources for talking with your student. They are calling these monthly resources, action cards, because they hope parents will take action and engage their student in learning how to be a global citizen.
What is service learning & how is it different from community service?
Service learning is a way of learning content while also doing a project to solve a problem or help others. The teachers integrate their studies in a project to meet a need in society. This is different from community service in that learning and teaching out are part of the process. Community service is typically just a way of helping others (without the research and studying of a problem).
Fall is finally here! Please join us for a fun, family evening at Tremont’s Fall Festival on Friday, October 4th from 5:30-8:00 PM. Come and enjoy games, face painting, a balloon maker, photo booth, cake walk and more! Food trucks will be available for you to buy dinner or a small bite to eat while at the festival.

New this year, our Fall Fundraiser will be a Walkathon! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Service Learning resources to enhance our curriculum. By giving to the Walkathon, in whatever amount you can afford, you can directly support the learning environment for our students and teachers.
When: The students will each start their walk after lunch on Friday, September 20th
Where: They will be walking around the new turf field! Each lap is a quarter mile.
