Spelling Bee

We can't wait to S-P-E-L-L
with you this January!

Each year the Tremont PTO coordinates and hosts the Tremont Spelling Bee.

Grades 2-3: Tuesday, January 13th @ 3 pm
Grades 4-5: Wednesday, January 14th @ 3 pm

The Bee will take place in the gymnasium right after school
Family members are encouraged to attend
All participants will earn a certificate and small prize
The winner from the 2nd-3rd grade Bee will earn a trophy and qualify to participate on the 14th for the title of school champion
The school champion will earn a trophy, special dictionary, 1 year subscription to Britannica Online for Kids, and a chance to participate in the Regional Spelling Bee in March (the Scripps National Spelling Bee is then held over Memorial Day in Washington, D.C.)

If your child would like to compete in the Bee, you must sign them up online.

We suggest your child start with the list corresponding to their grade level, and then work up through the grade lists as they wish – these are the exact words that will be quizzed at the Bee and we might get all the way up to 8th grade words!

We need YOU to help make the Bee a success! While the PTO coordinates the Spelling Bee, it is run fully by volunteers. Please consider volunteering to help. We have spots for: setup, judging, announcing, and teardown. Time commitment is from 2:45-4ish depending on when the Bee ends.
