PTO September Meeting – Join Us Tuesday, September 1 at 5:30 p.m.
Curious what the PTO is working on this fall or wondering where you might want to jump in?
Join us for our September PTO meeting!
We’ll be talking about upcoming Tremont favorites including Walk-a-Thon, Fall Fest, Cafeteria Volunteering, Recess Renegades and more.
Come hear what’s ahead, meet some people and find an opportunity that fits your schedule. No grand commitment required, your curiosity is plenty.
Classroom Volunteers Wanted
Want to be part of the fun this year? There are plenty of ways to help — whether you’re an organizer, creative type, party person or just really good at keeping a group text on track.
Every role helps make Tremont a little more special for our students and teachers. Pick the one that fits your time, talents and level of enthusiasm.
Room Parent
Think connector, communicator and occasional wrangler of volunteers.
Room Parents work with teachers, PTO and classroom families to help coordinate activities, parties and projects throughout the year. You may also help recruit volunteers or lend an extra hand when needed.
You do not have to do everything yourself. Promise.
Fall Festival Basket Coordinator
Each classroom creates a themed basket for the Fall Festival raffle- think movie night, UA sports, sweets and treats, gift cards and more.
You’ll help choose a theme, collect donated items and pull it all together into something people definitely want to win.
Adult Social Auction Art Coordinator
Calling all crafty parents, and crafty-adjacent parents.
Each classroom creates an original piece of art for the Adult Social auction. You’ll work with the teacher and students to dream up a project and help bring it to life.
Classroom Party Planners
Party Planners help coordinate games, crafts and approved snacks for classroom celebrations throughout the year. Other families can contribute supplies — you’re simply helping pull the fun together.
PTO Morning Coffee – Friday, September 11
7:45–8:15 a.m.
Already at school for drop-off? Stay for coffee.
Grab a quick cup, meet a few PTO faces and learn a little more about what we do throughout the year.
Have questions about volunteering? Ask away. Not ready to volunteer but want to know what’s going on? Also welcome. In a hurry? Grab a flyer and take us to-go.
Low pressure. High caffeine.
Walking Club Is Now… Recess Renegades!
Same lunchtime fun. Much better name.
Recess Renegades kicks off October 13 and gives students an active way to spend their lunch recess while earning charms along the way.
Recess Renegades takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:55 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on the Tremont Turf Field.
Students receive a card with their name and teacher, then start logging laps. They can earn bracelet charms after completing 8, 16 and 20 laps around the turf.
We Need Renegade Grown-Ups, Too
A minimum of four parent volunteers each week — two per day — are needed to keep things running.
It’s an easy, active volunteer shift and a fun way to see the kids during the school day.
Encourage your student to join the Renegades and consider joining us on the turf!
Cafeteria Volunteers Needed
Want one of the easiest ways to help at Tremont with the added bonus of seeing your kid in their natural lunchtime habitat?
Cafeteria volunteer slots are open now.
Volunteers help keep lunch moving smoothly from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. on school days. Ideally, we have four volunteers each day helping the cafeteria team.
It’s a simple, meaningful way to support the school without taking over your entire day.
And yes, your child will probably be very excited to see you. Or pretend not to be. Either counts.
Walk + Roll Is Back!
Dust off the bikes, scooters and walking shoes — Walk + Roll returns September 17!
Every Thursday, students who walk, bike or scoot to school receive a punch on their Walk + Roll card.
Please make sure your student’s name and teacher are written on the card so every punch counts.
Those Little Punches Add Up
For every hole punch earned, the PTO donates $0.05 to World Bicycle Relief, helping provide bicycles to people in rural communities around the world so they can better access education, healthcare and other essential services.
At the end of the fall session, punch cards will be collected and counted to determine our total donation.
And because a little friendly competition never hurts…
The class with the most punches earns a Wear a Hat to School Day!
Volunteers Needed
We need six parent volunteers each Thursday to help manage Tremont’s three main entrances and punch cards as students arrive.
It’s quick, cheerful and over before most people have finished their second coffee.
The Tremont Spirit Wear Shop Is Open!
Consider this your sign to add a little more green and blue to the family wardrobe.
The Tremont Spirit Wear Shop is officially open, with gear for students, parents and anyone else ready to show some Lion pride.
Shop tees, sweatshirts and plenty of Tremont favorites while the store is open because spirit days have a funny way of sneaking up on us.
